Recommendations for participants of freight transportation

After receiving an order for transportation, it is necessary to clarify the nature of the cargo being transported and its value. It is also necessary to ask the sender/customer in writing (telex, fax) for written instructions regarding the place of delivery and customs clearance of the cargo, as well as, if possible, the passport data of the Consignee or another method of identifying the Consignee (for example, a password, etc.)
1.Control the flow of information about the cargo. Avoid recoupling road trains with high value cargo.
2. Release only serviceable equipment on the flight.
3. Take care of parking on the way and, most importantly, at the place of delivery.
4. Ask in writing if the sender needs armed guards for high-value cargo (at his expense)
5. Request a telephone message from the driver immediately after unloading and immediately notify (by fax) the recipient and sender (indicating the place and time of unloading.
6. Bring to the attention and require the driver to comply with all instructions of the sender, as well as the requirements listed below Instructions, Memos, Recommendations. (with financial responsibility for their implementation).
Instructions for transport companies and their drivers.
When accepting the goods for transportation, make sure that you have received the necessary documentation:
1. CMR waybill – if the person loading you (carrier or shipper) does not give you his waybill, you must (unless otherwise instructed by your company) to have the waybill with you. The person handing over the goods to you must keep one copy of the bill of lading and sign the other copy(s) and hand it to you.
2.TIR carnet filled in by your company or forwarder.
3. Commercial invoice (if the person handing over the shipment to you does not provide an invoice, ask why.)
4. Packing list (Also, if the person handing over the shipment to you does not provide a packing list, ask why.)
Depending on the nature of the cargo being transported, other documents may also be required.
Refuse to accept the shipment unless you have received all of these documents or you have received clear instructions from your company. If you have any doubts, please contact your transport company or a representative of the Forwarding Company before accepting the shipment for transportation.
