Recommendations for cargo transportation in transit
When setting off, take care of currency exchange, food, personal belongings and documents in advance in order to avoid stops with cargo in unguarded parking lots (near the bank, customs, at home).
If you have any doubts, please contact your company or a representative of the Forwarding Company.
In the event of an incident, traffic accident, loss, damage to cargo or interference by customs authorities:
1. If necessary, take all necessary measures to protect the life and health of you and the people around you.
2. Take steps to prevent further damage or loss of the shipment. In places located near populated areas, stay guarding the cargo, waiting for the arrival of the authorities.
3. Try to preserve physical evidence and identify witnesses to the incident.
4. In the event of an accident or crime, inform the police.
5. Contact your shipping company or Forwarding Company representative for further instructions.
6. If customs requires inspection of cargo at the border, require a written protocol of the following content (or at least write it down on your own):
1.Description, quantity and condition of the cargo;
2. Numbers of old and new seals;
3. Full name, signature and personal numbered seal of the customs officer;
4. Get a copy of this protocol.
When you delivered the goods.
Before leaving, call yourself, or ask the forwarder or representative of your Company to call the recipient and find out if he is ready to meet the cargo, where, who will meet, agree on the place and all the details of unloading and customs procedures. If this is not reported to you for any reason, be extremely attentive to the documents presented by the recipient.
1. Deliver only to the premises specified in your written instructions. These written instructions should include:
2. Complete information as specified in the CMR.
3. exact address;
4. full name of the recipient;
5. passport details of the person receiving the goods.
Try to make written notes for yourself about all the details of the unloading, the description and names of the persons who received the cargo, vehicle numbers, addresses, etc.
Give the recipient’s representative an invoice and other documents only in exchange for the original power of attorney from the company containing the recipient’s passport data and certified by the company’s seal.
Keep this power of attorney along with your copy of the invoice. Make sure that the recipient’s seal exactly (to the letter) matches the invoice and other documents. The recipient’s round seal must not contain typesetting elements.
Ask for documents from the customs officer, write down his name and ID number. After unloading in premises other than those specified in the consignment note, be sure to call the recipient using the numbers you have. Tell him the address of unloading, and the time of unloading, contact the forwarder.
